Paneer Kofta
Ingredients:
250 grams paneer (cottage cheese)
2 boiled potatoes, peeled and mashed
1/4 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
For the gravy:
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped
- 2 medium-sized tomatoes, pureed
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
Instructions:
Crumble paneer in a bowl and add mashed potatoes, gram flour, red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well to form a dough.
Divide the dough into small equal portions and shape them into balls.
Heat oil in a deep pan and deep-fry the paneer balls until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. When the seeds crackle, add onion and fry until golden brown.
Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, and sauté for a minute.
Add tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add cream and mix well.
