Paneer Kofta




 Ingredients:

250 grams paneer (cottage cheese)

2 boiled potatoes, peeled and mashed

1/4 cup gram flour (besan)

  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

For the gravy:

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2-3 green chilies, chopped
  • 2 medium-sized tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves

Instructions:

  1. Crumble paneer in a bowl and add mashed potatoes, gram flour, red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well to form a dough.

  2. Divide the dough into small equal portions and shape them into balls.

  3. Heat oil in a deep pan and deep-fry the paneer balls until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. When the seeds crackle, add onion and fry until golden brown.

  5. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, and sauté for a minute.

  6. Add tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.

  7. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

  8. Add cream and mix well.
