chicken tikka
Ingredients:
- 1 kg boneless chicken, cut into small cubes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- Oil, for basting
- Lemon wedges, for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- Mix well to form a smooth marinade.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and coat them well.
- Cover the bowl with a cling wrap or lid and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow the chicken to absorb the flavors of the marinade.
- When ready to cook, preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
- Thread the chicken pieces onto skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
- Grill the chicken skewers over the hot coals, turning them frequently, until they are evenly cooked and slightly charred on all sides. Baste the chicken with a little bit of oil while grilling to keep them moist.
- Once cooked, remove the skewers from the grill and transfer the chicken pieces to a serving platter.
- Garnish with lemon wedges and serve hot with your favorite side dishes, such as naan bread or rice.
Enjoy your delicious and flavorful chicken tikka!
